Delete your group listing
Take a group you submitted out of the directory — and everything connected to it — without waiting on an email reply. You prove it's yours with the recovery code from the app, and it's gone in one step.
What gets deleted
- The listing itself, on the website and in all three apps
- Its view, join and trending analytics
- Any pending or historic edit requests
- Promotion records and any live featured placement
- The cover image, deleted from storage
- Notifications addressed to that listing
This is permanent. There is no undo and no backup to restore from — to list the group again you submit it fresh from the app.
Verify it's your listing
Shown once in the app, on the confirmation screen right after your submission was accepted. We can't send it to you again — that's what keeps other people from deleting your listing.
We check this against the listing too, so a guessed code can't delete anything.
Three attempts per hour, then it locks until tomorrow. Nothing about this request is emailed to you — the only record left behind is the deletion itself and the in-app notice sent to the device that submitted the group.
What this doesn't cover
Bookmarks on your phone
Saved groups live only in the app on your device. Clear them there, or uninstall — that wipes local data instantly.
Groups you did not submit
You can only remove a listing whose recovery code you hold. To flag someone else’s broken or harmful listing, use the in-app report flow or email support.
The WhatsApp group itself
This removes the directory entry. The actual group, its members and its messages live inside WhatsApp and are yours or its admins’ to manage.
